Q&A with Heidi

Position: Senior Copywriter

What is your favorite part about your job and why? My favorite part about my job is being able to make a meaningful impact through my skills in persuasive writing and keyword research. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how small, strategic adjustments can lead to big results for our brands—and for Witz as a whole. I take pride in knowing that my work contributes to the kind of success that ultimately helps more people thrive.

What is your favorite hobby, activity, or creative outlet? One of my favorite things to do is cook without following a recipe. I love figuring out the flavors and seasonings just by taste—it’s both relaxing and creatively fulfilling. It gives me a chance to experiment, trust my instincts, and enjoy the results!

Time at Witz: 2 years, 9 months

What is your favorite memory from working at Witz? My favorite memory is meeting the team in person for the first time in New York after working remotely for over a year. It was such a meaningful experience that affirmed how collaborative, supportive, and genuinely kind everyone on the Witz team is. It made me feel even more connected to the work we do and the people I get to do it with.

What is your favorite food or cuisine? I’m especially drawn to rustic French cooking with herbs. I love how herbs can transform simple ingredients into something deeply flavorful and memorable. There’s something grounding and soulful about that kind of cooking—it feels both timeless and comforting.

TikTok Shop layoffs expose the cracks in ByteDance’s U.S. ecommerce bet

ByteDance recently laid off 65 employees from its U.S. TikTok Shop operations, marking the third round of job cuts in 2025. The changes come as the platform navigates shifting market conditions, including declining foreign seller sales and the development of a U.S.-only app, codenamed “M2.”
